The 10th Cebu City Korea Day, held from October 6 to October 8, 2023, at Ayala Center Cebu, marked a joyous celebration of the rich and vibrant cultures of Korea and the Philippines. This annual event, which has grown in popularity over the years, brought together people from diverse backgrounds to share, experience, and appreciate the beauty of Korean traditions and their strong connection with the Philippines.


The 10th Cebu City Korea Day was a cultural extravaganza that showcased the best of both Korean and Filipino cultures. From the captivating performances to the delectable cuisine, attendees were treated to a memorable experience.

Cebu Kpop Stars Grand Finals:
One of the major highlights of the event was the highly anticipated Cebu Kpop Stars Grand Finals. Talented local performers took to the stage to showcase their K-pop talents, captivating the audience with their impressive singing and dancing skills. The competition not only highlighted the popularity of K-pop in Cebu but also provided a platform for aspiring artists to shine.

Korean Food Festival:
Food has always been a bridge between cultures, and the Korean Food Festival at the event was no exception. Attendees had the opportunity to savor a wide array of Korean dishes, from spicy kimchi to savory bulgogi, and experience the flavors of Korea right in the heart of Cebu. The festival was a delightful gastronomic journey that left taste buds craving for more.

Korean Culture Exhibit:
The Korean Culture Exhibit offered a fascinating glimpse into the traditions, art, and history of Korea. Visitors could explore intricate Hanbok costumes, marvel at traditional Korean artwork, and learn about the ancient customs that have shaped Korean society over the centuries. It was an educational and visually stimulating experience.

K-pop Group Dustin:
Adding to the musical extravaganza was the performance by the K-pop group Dustin Dst_official. Their electrifying stage presence and catchy tunes had the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing along. Dustin's performance is proof of the global phenomenon that is K-pop, transcending borders and uniting fans from different backgrounds.

The culminating event on October 7, 2023, was graced by several distinguished personalities who highlighted the significance of the occasion:

Mr. Bong Hwan "Charlie" Cho, Chairman of the Cebu Korean Association Inc. (Cebu Hanin Hue Inc.), expressed his excitement over the event and the opportunity it provided to strengthen the cultural bonds between the Philippines and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.


Korean Consul Song Sewon's presence underscored the importance of diplomatic and cultural ties between the two nations.
Councilor Joy Pesquera, Acting Vice Mayor Dondon Hontiveros, and former Cordova Mayor Mary Therese "Teche" Sitoy-Cho represented local government support and enthusiasm for such cultural exchanges.


Cebu City Tourism Commission Director Cinbeth Enriquez-Orellano played a vital role in organizing and promoting this significant event, enhancing Cebu's reputation as a hub for cultural diversity.

The 10th Cebu City Korea Day came to a spectacular close with a grand dance number that featured a medley of talented performers, including K-pop Group Dustin, the Knapsack Dancers Knapsack Dance Studio, Cebu Cultural Dance Troupe, Mandaue Cultural Dance Troupe, KTop Models, Cebu KPopStar Grand Champions, Solstice: Kpop Cover Group, and a Korean Cultural Band. This sensational performance symbolized the harmonious blending of Korean and Filipino cultures, leaving everyone in attendance with lasting memories of unity and cultural exchange.
