SM MALLS IN CEBU JOIN EARTH HOUR 2024 INITIATIVE

𝐒𝐌 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄

SM malls in Cebu proudly participated in Earth Hour 2024 on March 23, joining hands with the global initiative led by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to raise awareness about the urgent climate crisis. This year, a total of 85 SM malls and various properties across the Philippines united with millions in over 190 countries worldwide to demonstrate their commitment to environmental sustainability.

In commemorating its 16th year of active support for Earth Hour, SM undertook significant measures to reduce energy consumption. Key areas of the malls saw a reduction in lighting as mall signages and lights were either switched off or dimmed to 50 percent capacity. Furthermore, tenants were encouraged to contribute by adjusting their store signages and lights accordingly.

One notable event during Earth Hour at SM Seaside City Cebu was the launch of a compelling photo exhibit by the non-governmental organization SEED4COM. The exhibit showcases a decade of SEED4COM's impactful work and highlights how renewable energy systems have brought tangible benefits to its partners. Visitors can experience this enlightening exhibit at the City Wing's upper ground floor Bridgeway.

SM Supermalls remain steadfast in its commitment to sustainability and will continue to engage in initiatives that promote environmental consciousness and responsible energy use.
