SM Foundation recently celebrated the graduation of 107 farmers from its renowned Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farmers’ Training Program in SM City Cebu, reaffirming its commitment to empowering communities through sustainable agriculture. The graduation ceremony, held at the Event Centre, marked the culmination of weeks of intensive training aimed at equipping farmers with modern, climate-resilient agricultural techniques.
The KSK Farmers' Training Program is SM Foundation's flagship initiative that seeks to uplift marginalized farmers by enhancing their skills in sustainable farming, agripreneurship, and community development. This batch of 107 graduates hails from the different barangays in Cebu City, showcasing the program’s reach in addressing food security and livelihood enhancement across the country.
During the program, participants underwent practical and theoretical training sessions led by agricultural experts. Topics included organic farming methods, crop diversification, and financial literacy. Farmers were also introduced to innovative marketing strategies, enabling them to maximize their profits and establish sustainable businesses.
The graduates proudly presented their harvests in a vibrant agri-trade fair as part of the ceremony. Their produce, which included fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs, stood as a testament to their hard work and the program’s impact.
SM Foundation continues to collaborate with local government units, the Department of Agriculture, and partner organizations to ensure the program’s success. Since its inception, the KSK Farmers’ Training Program has empowered thousands of Filipino farmers, promoting inclusive growth in the agriculture sector.
