Cebu continues to strengthen its position on the regional tourism and events map as the Cebu MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) Alliance officially launched the Cebu MICE Guidebook during the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026 Travel Exchange held at the Mactan Expo on January 28, 2026.

The guidebook unveiling took place shortly after the forum’s opening ceremonies and was witnessed by key leaders from both the public and private sectors. Among those present were Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, Cebu MICE Alliance President Cleofe Albiso, Tourism Promotions Board Chief Operating Officer Margarita Nograles, and Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Trustee Regan King—a strong show of support underscoring the importance of Cebu’s MICE sector to the country’s tourism and economic agenda.

Designed as a comprehensive reference, the 200-page Cebu MICE Guidebook offers an in-depth look into what makes Cebu a compelling destination for both business and leisure. Beyond listing venues and services, the guidebook thoughtfully weaves together the island’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant gastronomy, and modern infrastructure. It features curated information on accommodations, convention and event venues, dining options, festivals, trusted suppliers, and local performers, providing planners and investors with a one-stop resource for staging world-class events in Cebu.

More than just a directory, the guidebook reflects Cebu’s evolving identity as a destination where productivity and pleasure seamlessly intersect. It captures the essence of Cebu’s “business-meets-leisure” appeal, highlighting how meetings and conferences can be complemented by meaningful cultural experiences, island adventures, and culinary discoveries. This approach aligns with global trends in MICE tourism, where delegates seek destinations that offer more than just meeting rooms.

The launch of the Cebu MICE Guidebook comes at a pivotal time, as Cebu hosts the ASEAN Tourism Forum Travel Exchange—one of the region’s most important tourism gatherings, at the newly developed Mactan Expo, with Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown serving as the official partner hotel. The event not only showcases Cebu’s readiness to host large-scale international events but also reinforces its growing reputation as a dynamic hub for business, tourism, and investment in Southeast Asia.

By raising industry standards and responding to the changing needs of global travelers and event organizers, the Cebu MICE Alliance aims to position Cebu as a competitive and sustainable destination. The initiative is expected to contribute to increased tourist arrivals, stronger investor confidence, and the creation of more employment opportunities for the local community.

With the launch of the Cebu MICE Guidebook at ATF 2026, Cebu sends a clear message to the world: it is open, ready, and fully equipped to welcome the future of meetings, conferences, and global collaboration—while offering experiences that go far beyond the boardroom.
