The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing business resilience and sustainable development through its participation in Recharge Cebu 2026, an initiative led by ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES) the retail electricity supply unit of the Ayala Group. The forum convened business leaders, sustainability advocates, and industry stakeholders on March 10, 2026, at the Ocean Pavilion of Shangri-La Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City.
With the theme “Padayon,” Recharge Cebu 2026 highlighted the enduring resilience of the Cebuano business community in the face of natural disasters and economic uncertainties. The forum served as a platform for reflection and dialogue on strengthening business continuity and developing proactive strategies to safeguard enterprises against the growing risks posed by natural hazards in the Visayas.
Representing CCCI was Mr. Felix Taguiam, Past President of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and Regional Governor for Central Visayas of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). During the discussions, he shared insights on how recent natural calamities, including the earthquake that affected Cebu, have underscored the importance of preparedness, collaboration, and forward-thinking leadership among businesses.
Mr. Taguiam served as a panelist in a session focused on strengthening the resilience of local enterprises amid evolving economic and environmental challenges. He emphasized the role of proactive leadership, sustainability-driven strategies, and people-centered management in helping businesses remain adaptable and resilient.
“Resiliency is on every company’s mind. We prepare now by learning from past experiences. Every company should think out of the box and prioritize the well-being of employees, as resiliency starts with people. Business leaders must act proactively to ensure their organizations are ready for the challenges ahead,” Mr. Taguiam shared.
The event gathered around 200 business leaders and stakeholders, fostering meaningful exchanges on lessons learned from recent disasters and the collective responsibility of the private sector, government, and civil society to strengthen the region’s preparedness and response capabilities.
Recharge Cebu 2026 underscored Cebu’s determination to move forward stronger “padayon” - while reinforcing CCCI’s continuing commitment to champion initiatives that promote a resilient, sustainable, and future-ready business community.
