The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) strengthened its commitment to MSME development and workforce empowerment by supporting the first provincial run of Go Negosyo’s “Trabaho at Negosyo” roadshow held on May 9, 2026, at SM Seaside City Cebu.
Centered on creating opportunities for both employment and entrepreneurship, the initiative brought together job seekers, aspiring entrepreneurs, MSMEs, government agencies, and private sector partners in a collaborative platform aimed at advancing inclusive economic growth.
The event marked a milestone for Go Negosyo as Cebu became the first provincial venue of the organization’s pioneering job skills and entrepreneurship roadshow. Hundreds of job seekers and small entrepreneurs flocked to the venue to access free job matching opportunities, mentorship sessions, and support services from both government and private sector institutions.
One of the highlights of the event was the number of applicants who were hired on the spot (HOTS) during the job fair, providing immediate employment opportunities for many Cebuanos and reflecting the strong demand for skilled and capable workers in the region.
As one of the initiative’s key institutional partners, the Cebu Chamber supported the program through the participation of its distinguished business leaders and entrepreneurship mentors during the Business Mentoring Sessions, where MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs received practical guidance on business growth, innovation, sustainability, and enterprise development.
Representing the Cebu Chamber were President Regan Rex King; PCCI Director and Vice President for MSME Development and Past President Melanie Ng; PCCI Regional Governor for Central Visayas and Past President Felix Taguiam; Past President Virgilio Espeleta; Trustee Ma. Aleta Dela Calzada; and Executive Director Joy Lorena Segismar, alongside several Chamber members who served as mentors during the sessions.
Through their participation, the Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to empowering MSMEs and strengthening a more resilient, innovative, and future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cebu.
The Chamber also expressed its appreciation to Go Negosyo, government agencies, private sector partners, employers, mentors, and participating organizations whose collective efforts contributed to the success of the event and helped create meaningful opportunities for Cebuanos.
Through initiatives such as Trabaho at Negosyo, the Cebu Chamber continues to champion programs that bridge employment and entrepreneurship, recognizing MSMEs as vital drivers of job generation, innovation, and inclusive economic development in the region.
As Cebu continues to recover and grow in an increasingly competitive global environment, the Chamber underscored its continuing support for initiatives that create jobs, strengthen enterprises, and uplift communities.
“Together, let us build a Cebu where opportunities are accessible, enterprises are empowered, communities are uplifted, and growth becomes prosperity shared by all,” King said.
